As we begin a new year, we are hopeful that our goal of $150,000 is reached. With
your help and support we have been able to accomplish so much, yet there is still so much more to do.
We continue to grow the organization, and the number of patients we are able to assist. We started
with just one patient in 2005 and as we closed 2007 we are helping over 125. We also will begin to put the
wheels in motion for our long range plan and start of our HOPE HOUSE CAPITAL campaign and fund drive.
There has been intial dialogue with supporters about our Hope House, which will be a place for
patients and or their families to stay when undergoing treatment, or nearing the end of their journey and under the care
of hospice. The facility will also be a place where patients can go for group therapy sessions, interaction
with other patients who are facing the same challenges, and general support. In our original business plan we
stated that we would like to have this facility in operation by 2014, so we need to begin raising the capital now. We are in need of donors who will be able to help us secure a property, and do whatever work will be needed to
have get it running and operational by 2014.
We are very excited that the Friends Fur Life therapy group will begin making visits to patients this
year. In Oct we had our first 2 dogs certified and are looking to expand the group to at least 4 by
end of year in order to hold weekly visits.
We will be holding our annual Walking with Friends Walk-a-thon in March, and will be expanding it beyond
the walk to a Welcome Spring Fair with crafts, face painting, entertainment and BBQ. Volunteers
will be needed to help in all areas.
As the new year unfolds, please be sure to add us to your favorites so that you can continue to check
what we are up to . . . .
Happy New Year to each of you . . . .
May 2008 be a year of health, joy, happiness and peace
