March 29, 2008 3rd Annual Walking with Friends Cancer walk & craft fair. The day was sunny and cool (cold). Proceeds benefited Hafke, Higgins, Pay their Way co-pay program, and the Sofia Education Fund. Approximately 90 walkers participated and while final figures are still being calculated the estimate is just over $8,000. We had 4 bands volunteer their time, playing with numb fingers and blustery wind - but fun was had by all who attended. Girl Scout Troop 4899 volunteered and hosted children's activities. A special thank you to the more than 20 volunteers; crafters and participants who helped make the day a success.
